Cumbum is a town in Theni district. Cumbum is a valley, surrounded by hills. The eastern side of the hills constituting seven dams on the hills. In the South, the famous tourist attraction, ‘Thekkady’ is situated Kerala. Thekkady (Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary Kerala) is around 30 km from Cumbum, near Kumily which is a border town between the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Cumbum is famous for its coconut & cardamom trading market.
